'LEM' is a space created by Singaporean Artist Heman Chong, a space which occurs within other spaces configured to house specific fields of research in diverse forms of presentations, from anthology of short stories, archive bookshop, novel, installation or performance.
The exhibition, entitled 'LEM1' - the first of a proposed 'LEM' series - will present a functioning sci-fi and fantasy bookshop opened to the public where visitors are welcome to browse as well as purchase books, transforming the viewing experience into a system of monetary and goods exchange. The books in LEM1 are all taken from a list compiled by Chong, many of which he has used for research whilst writing his own science fiction novel, due to be completed in 2013.
