Great Writers and their Influence
Dr Jonathan Holmes
Jonathan Holmes considers Shakespeare’s legacy and our growing appreciation of him as a dramatist who embraced theatrical collaboration of many kinds. His recent production of The Tempest has excited critics by reconstructing the play with its original score of music. Shakespeare was an innovator in the use of music for the theatre; this talk reveals a new aspect of his bold and pioneering literary talent.
Jonathan was Senior Lecturer in Drama and English at Royal Holloway, University of London until 2007, after which he established the Jericho House Theatre Company.
