HOLI, Spring Festival of Colour, Saturday 10 March, Orleans House Gallery 

Orleans House Gallery will once again be hosting HOLI, the spring festival of colour, on Saturday 10th March. The festival aims to be bigger than ever this year extending beyond the Orleans House into Twickenham. From 11.30 onwards Twickenham town centre will feature promenade performances, street theatre and music, all led by a traditional Indian toastmaster in full costume. There will also be an Indian market stall selling traditional crafts and goods in Church Street.

At Orleans House Gallery from 1pm brightly coloured pigment will be thrown in the air in celebration of the end of winter and the welcoming of spring. This will be accompanied by a programme of lively performances including a community dance showcase featuring local schools and youth groups; Bhangra and Bollywood dancers; dhol drummers; children’s activities and workshops and food stalls selling customary delicacies.
