DATE NIGHT AND POPCORN
Date Night and Popcorn features work from Claire Boyd, Miranda Pissarides, Rose Rowson, Alex Springer and Tom Worsfold, five current students from the Slade School of Fine Art, bringing together an eclectic mix of influences and aims, ultimately grounded in the desire to produce visually appealing and boisterous work.
"'Date Night and Popcorn' aims to reclaim and challenge the authority of dominant imagery in contemporary high and low culture. By doing this, we can create an all-encompassing experience for the viewer.
Through making work that references its site and reaches out into space, there is the feeling of literally walking through a constructed pictorial space.
We intend to acknowledge the transience of our visual culture whilst dually celebrating it: everything is awful, and that’s just great..."
